Coral BourgeoisAmerican, b. 1954
Working in mixed medium of acrylic paint, pigment, gel, beads, collage and resin on wood, Bourgeois creates her works based on variety of subject matters, both real and imagined. Recently images of India have captured her imagination as in the work entitled Dreaming of India or historic French Empire personalities and architecture in the work If You Only Knew 2010.
Her work was on view at The Newport Art Museum and was featured in Chicago in the NEXT Fair (April 28-May 2, 2011). Site-specific commissioned works include the Taj Hotel, Dubai; The Liberty Hotel, Boston; Atlantis, The Palm Hotel, Dubai, U.A.E; Shangri La Hotel, Seoul, South Korea; and the Rajamama, London.
