Mark Perry
American, b.1959Contemplating the Seasons is a group of oil paintings that use color cues to indicate the shifts of nature over the course of a year. The impression of water and reflection highlights Perry’s unique solution for the depiction of seasons. Spring moves subtley into Summer with the increase of bright green leaves and algae; Fall asserts itself boldly with oranges and reds; and cool-grey ripples freeze over in Winter.
Mark Perry was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. After painting from the figure for a number of years, Perry began producing atmospheric oil paintings that evoke the landscape. Perry currently lives and works in Long Island, New York.
