Nancy Friese’s new watercolors are featured at Swifty’s, 1007 Lexington Avenue, New York. A reception for the artist will be held at Swifty’s on Wednesday, October 16th from 4-6pm. All are welcome to attend.
Elected as a member of the National Academy in 2009, Nancy Friese (Yale University MFA 1980) has been working consistently as a plein-air artist for the past thirty years. Friese’s work captures the natural spontaneity and intertwining clusters of trees and foliage beneath lively skies. Each large-scale watercolor is a layered depiction of landscape/seascape that Friese visits multiple times over the course of the painting’s completion. The new watercolors on view feature landscapes of the coastal terrain of Rhode Island, plains and mountains of North Dakota, Vermont and California.
